When Morgan and Turner approached me for an anniversary couples session, they envisioned warm, romantic photos that embodied both a country vibe and the golden hour magic. Their session was one of those unforgettable moments that remind me why I love photography—capturing real love and heartfelt moments bathed in nature’s perfect light.
We chose a stunning hilltop location that overlooked the entire city—known for offering the most breathtaking sunset views in town. As the golden hour arrived, the sky transformed into a symphony of soft oranges, pinks, and purples, casting the entire scene in a warm, dreamy glow. This perfect lighting painted Morgan and Turner in hues that enhanced every expression and gesture, making each photograph feel intimate and timeless.
No matter what kind of shoot we’re doing, I almost always will take a second and take what I like to call “updated profile pics”. I love getting those solo shots of my clients that they otherwise wouldn’t have. I mean we all need to update out profile pics every now and then right?
Morgan and Turner wanted their session to evoke country vibes and I think they did a great job of achieving that. Simple touches like a cowboy hat, boots, and rustic patterns really helped tell the story they were going for. All of my couples get a style guide before their shoo. This helps to guide them in the right direction for their shoot as well as explain things to avoid or be careful of. Outfits can really make or break a photo. In this case, their attire really helped get the country vibes across. Also how cute are they??
As the golden hues faded and blue hour began, we shifted our focus to cooler-toned shots. The atmosphere took on a different kind of magic, with softer, moodier lighting that added an air of romance to the photos. The twinkle of nearby streetlights provided just enough glow to frame Morgan and Turner as they shared laughs and tender moments. I knew Turner’s truck would be the perfect prop to incorporate into the session. With Turner more than happy to feature his truck, we took a variety of shots that highlighted its rugged charm—from candid moments in the truck bed to romantic poses under the soft glow of the truck's headlights.
